Educating Peter is an amazing video that shows the struggles
and successes of inclusion. Peter is a student with a disability that causes
him to have behaviors and socially inappropriate peer interactions. This video
was done in 1992 when inclusion wasn’t as popular as it is now. His teacher did
not have the mind-set that I would have expected. I thought she would have been
unhappy about the situation. Instead she was all for it, she even allowed the
students to be active participants in helping Peter grow. This would be a great
video for students to learn about diversity and acceptance of others.
