Thing 2

Currently, this is my first encounter with blogging. I am not an extremely avid technology guru as some persons my age. I am also not 100% confident in "playing around" with technology, due to the fact that most technology breaks when I have that mind set. Alas, here I am in technology class giving the 2.0 a fair shot.
As a high school and previous college student I was a pretty terrible writer. I have some mild learning difficulties when it comes to processing my thoughts and writing them out. I was told I struggled in spelling (but don't we all). Needless to say, my past writing and reading experiences have been less than successful. I must also say that I am an extremely slow typist so I see this class as a typing intro as well as a technology intro.
My blog name was picked solely on the fact that I would be able to remember it easily since it is my name. my blog posting name is "Wood's contemplations" because that is how I see this blog site. I see it as journal.
In creating the blog I found the processes quite easy, but I wonder how much of that was because we were being walked through the process by Ms. Richardson. If I had to do it on my own I am confident that some time this century I would have figured out how to set it up. There are several steps that have to be done to create the blog account which leads to a slight challenge when trying to attempt it on your own.
Creating the avatar was a fun and frustrating experience. When uploading it to the blog I kept putting it in the wrong gadget. Uploading it to the wrong gadget makes it load in the wrong spot on the main page. After 3 attempts I finally was able to put the avatar where it needed to be. My avatar shows me as a relax person. I chose to depict myself in a relaxed manner since that is when I'm most happy. So overall this was a fun and exciting step to further my technology education.

  1. I had to comment on your statement of "everything breaks". I was laughing to myself because I feel the same way. If something is wrong with my computer I am quick to call tech support because I have no clue on how to fix it. Then I get mad because the solution is always very simple.

  2. right!!! who knew the little antenna button had to be pushed to be able to get on the internet (first laptop user world problems). It's always something as simple as that or even just restarting your computer.
